Computers are delicate tools, if you don’t know how to use them properly you can end up downloading a virus that may erase all of your important files in your computer, like family pictures, video, movies, songs you rightfully own, and even legal programs. But there is something maybe harder to back-up, and this is a contact list. If you delete the whole list by yourself you are able to get it back, but if someone else has stolen your account, you may have lost your entire contact list forever and ever, you won’t be able to get it back… or that was in the past. Now Hotmail has many services for you to take advantage, and once of those is to be able to back-up your contact list by exporting it in a special format. Doing this will take seconds, but will save lot of time incase you lose your account, and the first step to back-up your contact list is to log-in to your Hotmail account and head to your Inbox. Now you’ll find a link called “Options” in the right corner, click on it and then click on “more options” in the pop-up menu. A new page will load, showing lots of titles and options below those titles, but you’ll click on “exporting contacts” option under the “customize your contacts” title. Now you can save your back-up, since it’ll automatically start downloading your back-up contact list in .CSV format.

Once the file has finished downloading, you can now be sure that you have a back-up from your contact list in case your hotmail account gets stolen or a virus deletes all of your contacts. Remember to save this file in a safe place to avoid losing or deleting it.

Creating folders in Hotmail

If you’re an experimented user of computers, you may already know the benefits of creating folders in your computer, but for those who are still new you should know that if you want your files to be organized, the best way to do so is by folders, specially if you want to find your files quickly and you forget where you let them. The same comes with mails, especially if you’re not as tidy as you may want and all the mails end up in the Inbox.

Of course, if you’re not the type of user who receives tons of message it won’t probably make a difference when creating folders, you may even not need it, but for those who have jobs that requires partners to send you emails, creating folders will be something more than just important, maybe finding a certain mail with important information will be crucial for you to keep your job and not get fired. Creating folders is easy on computers, and it’s surely easy to do in Hotmail too. You must first log-in to your Hotmail account to do so, and once you’re done with that, head to your Inbox.

Now you can see your mails, and on the left you’ll be able to spot a bar with many “default folders”, such as “Junk”, “Drafts” and “Deleted”. All of those are under and option called “Folders”, and if you click on the gear that is next to the word, more options will pop-up. Those three options will help you to manage your folders, but to create a new one you must click on “Add a new folder”. A new page will load, and now you’ll be able to enter your folders’ name and where to send it (you can create folders inside others folders). Once you’re done, click on “save” and you’ll have your new folder ready to be used.

Now that you know how to keep your Inbox tidy and smart, you’ll be able to organize your mails in an easier way, and find them even easier. Remember that Hotmail has many tools for you to use, make use of every single one if possible.

Nowadays, everything a computer could do in the past can be done with a good smartphone, as long as it has Android, Symbian, iOS, or even java as the operative system, you can always download softwares that will help you do the same things you do on the computer in your cellphone (of course, don’t expect games like “Skyrim” to work on your smartphone, not even in 100 years cellphones will be able to do that).

Now we can even chat with our cellphones thanks to a service known as “eBuddy”, a service that would help you get online even if you didn’t have MSN installed in your computer, which made it the best option for chatting if you were at work and you couldn’t have MSN installed in your computer. Now it is available for phones too, and is even the easiest way to chat in your cellphone thanks to it’s user-friendly interface. All you have to do is select the service you want to use (it can also be used to chat with your Yahoo or Gmail accounts instead of just Hotmail’s one), and insert both your account and passwords. If you don’t have any of the selectable service’s account, you can even create one in the moment and then access to it (even though you may not have any contact, you can always do it if you want to).

If you like chatting, to the point of it being an addiction, you’ll love this new smartphone’s application, and you may even want to download it as soon as possible. Remember not to have both your account and passwords remembered in this application, because if you lose your cellphone you may be in serious problems.

Configure Hotmail’s preferences

Hotmail is not just a great messaging service, it can also work as a great social web, which may help us to find people by likes and dislikes that we may have in common, and even send messages to them (well, that’s kind of obvious since Hotmail is mainly a messaging service). Hotmail itself gives us a profile so we can identify ourselves in the system and share our interest with other users as well, and we can also modify it.

One of those things we can modify are preferences we may have about something, and those are mostly likes and dislikes. To configure this we must first log-in to our Hotmail account, and once we’ve successfully logged-in to Hotmail, we must head to our profile, which link will appear under our name in the top right corner of the page. Once you’ve clicked on it, a new page will load, leading you to your profile. On this page you can change many options, but to change details about your preferences you must click on “Edit Details”, loading a new part of the page. On this you have a big deal pf options you can change to customize your account, like favorite movie, singer, book, among many other things.

Once you’re done changing these preferences, you must click on “save” to finish the process and apply all the changes you’ve made to your profile. Remember that these new-made changes will help you to catch more people’s attention, some that will share the same interests as you do, and you may even find great friends who you can share your hobby with. The friendlier you get in here, the better for getting new friends will be.

Configuring your Windows Live Profile

Internet can be a big place, a country with no barriers, you don’t know where it starts a place and where one ends. Getting people to know you can be really hard, but with the help of a profile we can always show people how we are, and obviously, show them the information just WE want to show them. Mostly all of the social webs have a profile for each user, and Hotmail is not an exception.
With Windows Live Mail Profile, we can also show people what we want, and configure it is really easy, plus, it has many options most of the sites doesn’t have. To start configuring it you must first log-in to your Hotmail account. Once you’ve successfully done that, look for the “profile” option on the right of the screen and click on it. A new page will load, and if you haven’t configure it before or change anything since you first made your Hotmail account, Hotmail itself will guide you to do it. One of the best messaging services that has ever been and it still is, without a doubt, is Hotmail. But even though it had had a pretty good acceptation from the users, it still has to win a war against every single messaging service it has ever been, such as Gmail, to be the top one messaging service that ever existed in this cybernetic world. Unlocking a Hotmail account

Having your Hotmail account locked may be a pain in the ass, and unlocking it must be done if you’re someone who relies in that, even though you may have broken any rules at any point in the time if Hotmail’s team locked your Hotmail account. Unlocking it may be hard, but with a simple guide we may help you unlocking it.
First of all, the following instructions must be done using Internet Explorer, so even though you don’t like it, if you use another web browser it won’t work:

1. Log in to your Hotmail account using your account and password.
2. A nee page will load, indicating that our Hotmail account has been locked.
3. We’ll look in the bottom of the page, where it says “English”, click on it.
4. There will be many languages to choose, just choose “English” again and the click on “Save changes”.
5. A new page will load; here we can just click on “Continue”.
6. The initial page will load again, just click on “Continue”.

10. If you had problems with the SMS, don’t worry, you’ll just have to put some extra info for your account to be unlocked. Instead of selecting our country’s region for the SMS this time, we’ll click on Costumer Support.
11. Now we’ll need to put our hotmail account (the one with the problem), and another hotmail account to be kept on contact with the Support Team.
12. Now you’ll be asked for many types of information, just fill them as much as you remember, or as close too, this will help the Support Team to solve your problem.
