What is so good about HotmailTechnology is something that rules our lives, and as such, we need to be communicated using all the options we can to avoid mistakes. But the problem about this thought is that we cannot fully apply it to the reality just because of the many communication system we have to choose, that even if we were to just register ourselves in every single one of them would take a whole month to accomplish this task.

But one standard that we seemed to unconsciously agreed is the one to use Hotmail in most of the things we can use it. The reason that we choose Hotmail over everything else may be because is one of Microsoft’s product, such as Windows Operative System, the one that most of the people use because of the easy graphic interface and the way of use. But there are other reasons to use this communication service, and we’re going to show you them:

• Thanks to the fact that is a Microsoft’s product, it way of using is extremely easy. If it has been a UNIX’s product we would have had to learn a whole book with commands the same way we firstly used MS-DOS.
• We can have a chat-like conversation with our contacts as soon as they get online or any similar state we can interact with.
• It has SkyDrive to offer, which let us use an online space equal to 25 GB of a hard drive (something we really need in these times).
• Is compatible (and most of the times obligatory) for registrations in any social network, which is a must-have nowadays, especially when this times you use the social networks more than the hotmail itself.
• We can also check all of our social networks directly from the hotmail website, so is a tool that let us unite everything into a single site.
We don’t have to give any other reason to choose this one over the others, but if we have to give another option, Gmail from Google is something really cool as well.

But before doing some kind of reckless action like this getting to know the already-existing feature that Hotmail provides us is very important, and one of that feature that has always been there is that one

This feature is one that not many people know, but in case you want to know how to use it (which is highly recommended) you need to follow some easy steps. First of all, log-in to your hotmail account, but not from the website, you need to do it from the Windows Live Messenger program. After that head to the “Tools” option and click on “Privacy”. In this part of the program we will be able to see the admitted and the blocked contacts, but the option we’re interested in is the one called “See who added us to his/her contact list”. On one side of this option we have an option called “See”, and after we click this, a new list will pop-up, showing us who added us to his or her contact list.

This is the best and the less risky way to determine who added us, and with this you’ll be able to know this kind of information without having to register in any website that may be harmful for you or your personal information.

Hotmail Categories a way to separate people

If you’re a very sociable person you may notice the problem you have when looking for a person, especially if your contact list is beyond the 200 contacts. But if that is a serious problem for you, it can be easily solved with one of hotmail’s feature, one that even if is not likely used it has been around since everything begun: categories. This will let you separate your list of contacts between little lists, like for example, separate your friend from family and business partners.

You can always do this kind of work with the Windows Live Messenger program, though it can also be used from the hotmail website, and it’s highly recommended that you do it this way since it can be more customizable and flexible in terms of configuration. To do this easy job and avoid the time-consuming task of looking through your contacts a hundred of times a day you first need to be logged-in to your hotmail account. After that, head to the “Contacts” part of the website (to do this click on “Contacts” under “Hotmail” option, which is on the top of the website). Now you’ll need to look on the left side of the website to find the “Categories” section, and under that you’ll find the “Manage categories” option. After you’ve clicked in that a new page will load, and from that part you’ll be able to fully manage your contact list and categories, and you can even mix the contacts from different list and make a new one (if you’ve already made some kind of list before).

And not just that, we’ll also be able to add, delete, modify or even restore any contact, plus adding them to any category we want, even create a new category when we add a contact. As you see, this feature can be of a great help if you want to add a big list of contact to a mail, you just need to add the category of that group and the whole list will be added.
