How can I go back to Hotmail from Outlook?

Can I return to the Hotmail account?

How can I go back to Hotmail from Outlook?  a question that many people have done, since a few weeks ago, Microsoft announced the final migration of all Hotmail accounts that were maintained even without upgrading to Outlook mail, although many users remained together to their Hotmail accounts, for better or worse we have to say goodbye to Hotmail forever. But we’ve researched a little more about this.

Since it was released in draft form, to all persons who possessed an email in Hotmail we got an email inviting us to use the previous version of the new email service

Outlook, some persons opted to try it right away (in fact were more than one million who started to using Outlook in its first day of release) but some might expect accustomed at the Hotmail interface and for not know in detail what Outlook has offered.

Go back to Hotmail from Outlook email.

One of the functions used by some persons was the option “back to Hotmail” that was available in the configuration section for all who has decided to test the new Outlook email platform, where we were allowed to return to the old MSN Hotmail interface easily, personally, I made this a couple of times and only took me a few seconds to return to our Hotmail inbox. Now that is a thing of the past as it has been completely removed that option from settings Outlook.com.

Hotmail? … It’s a memory?, Hotmail Calendar??

While it is not possible to return to Hotmail from Outlook mail we still have some memory of the old Hotmail interface in our Outlook inboxes these days, precisely it is the calendar function of Outlook, or we should say even Hotmail calendar because it is almost the last thing that will be left with the appearance of Hotmail and we can check directly to enter from the smart bar higher Outlook.com inbox by clicking on calendar. Maybe from Microsoft have decided that it’s the last to change, we will see later, and was Skydrive which suited the new look, the calendar should do the same in the coming days or months.

As we can see we will have to say goodbye permanently to Hotmail to make way for a new interface, faster and more modern, a design intended to save time and highly effective functionality, if you have not yet created an account  in Outlook and it’s interisting for you, we invite you to create an Outlook email account and to use all the services it has for you.

Deactivating “restore messages” function

Deactivating “restore messages” function

Hotmail has great advantages for those users who want to be fully organized, those who love to have everything in place and be able to recover every single bit of information they may have lost. For a single user, this is especially great, but for those who share their hotmail’s account with many other users, there are some cares you must have, like be able to secure your password, or you may even don’t want them to read certain mails.

Of course, you can always delete those mails you don’t want other users to see, but they real problem is this: they can always restore those messages if they want to. Fortunately, Hotmail has some special options now for those who have to share a single account for many other users, and is the ability to deactivate the “restore messages” function. To do this, the first step is to log-in to your hotmail account. Once you’ve successfully logged-in, look for the “options” label on your inbox, click on it and then click on “more options”. A new page will load, and you’ll now have to click on the link named “Advanced privacy settings”, under the “Customizing Hotmail” title.

A new page will load again, and now you must pay attention to the second option, the “deleted messages” one. By clicking on the bottom option you’ll disable the “restore messages” function, and be letting the first option marked, you can restore your messages whenever you want. Once you’ve clicked on the second option, click on “save” button and you’re more than ready.

The best thing about this option is that, if you’ve marked the second option and then saved, all the deleted messages up to that point will be permanently deleted and you won’t be able to restore any of them, even if you select the first option back. Now you can be sure that nobody will check those messages they shouldn’t read, or at least that is not necessary for them to know the content of that mail.

Exporting Hotmail contacts

Exporting Hotmail contacts

Computers are delicate tools, if you don’t know how to use them properly you can end up downloading a virus that may erase all of your important files in your computer, like family pictures, video, movies, songs you rightfully own, and even legal programs. This is way that if you have important files you cannot lose, you may want to back-up them by burning them in DVDs, CDs or even copy them to Hard Drive Disks or Flash memories.

But there is something maybe harder to back-up, and this is a contact list. If you delete the whole list by yourself you are able to get it back, but if someone else has stolen your account, you may have lost your entire contact list forever and ever, you won’t be able to get it back… or that was in the past. Now Hotmail has many services for you to take advantage, and once of those is to be able to back-up your contact list by exporting it in a special format. Doing this will take seconds, but will save lot of time incase you lose your account, and the first step to back-up your contact list is to log-in to your Hotmail account and head to your Inbox. Now you’ll find a link called “Options” in the right corner, click on it and then click on “more options” in the pop-up menu. A new page will load, showing lots of titles and options below those titles, but you’ll click on “exporting contacts” option under the “customize your contacts” title. Now you can save your back-up, since it’ll automatically start downloading your back-up contact list in .CSV format.

Once the file has finished downloading, you can now be sure that you have a back-up from your contact list in case your hotmail account gets stolen or a virus deletes all of your contacts. Remember to save this file in a safe place to avoid losing or deleting it.

Creating folders in Hotmail

Creating folders in Hotmail

If you’re an experimented user of computers, you may already know the benefits of creating folders in your computer, but for those who are still new you should know that if you want your files to be organized, the best way to do so is by folders, specially if you want to find your files quickly and you forget where you let them. The same comes with mails, especially if you’re not as tidy as you may want and all the mails end up in the Inbox.

Of course, if you’re not the type of user who receives tons of message it won’t probably make a difference when creating folders, you may even not need it, but for those who have jobs that requires partners to send you emails, creating folders will be something more than just important, maybe finding a certain mail with important information will be crucial for you to keep your job and not get fired. Creating folders is easy on computers, and it’s surely easy to do in Hotmail too. You must first log-in to your Hotmail account to do so, and once you’re done with that, head to your Inbox.

Now you can see your mails, and on the left you’ll be able to spot a bar with many “default folders”, such as “Junk”, “Drafts” and “Deleted”. All of those are under and option called “Folders”, and if you click on the gear that is next to the word, more options will pop-up. Those three options will help you to manage your folders, but to create a new one you must click on “Add a new folder”. A new page will load, and now you’ll be able to enter your folders’ name and where to send it (you can create folders inside others folders). Once you’re done, click on “save” and you’ll have your new folder ready to be used.

Now that you know how to keep your Inbox tidy and smart, you’ll be able to organize your mails in an easier way, and find them even easier. Remember that Hotmail has many tools for you to use, make use of every single one if possible.

eBuddy: going online in your cellphone

eBuddy: going online in your cellphoneNowadays, everything a computer could do in the past can be done with a good smartphone, as long as it has Android, Symbian, iOS, or even java as the operative system, you can always download softwares that will help you do the same things you do on the computer in your cellphone (of course, don’t expect games like “Skyrim” to work on your smartphone, not even in 100 years cellphones will be able to do that).

Now we can even chat with our cellphones thanks to a service known as “eBuddy”, a service that would help you get online even if you didn’t have MSN installed in your computer, which made it the best option for chatting if you were at work and you couldn’t have MSN installed in your computer. Now it is available for phones too, and is even the easiest way to chat in your cellphone thanks to it’s user-friendly interface. All you have to do is select the service you want to use (it can also be used to chat with your Yahoo or Gmail accounts instead of just Hotmail’s one), and insert both your account and passwords. If you don’t have any of the selectable service’s account, you can even create one in the moment and then access to it (even though you may not have any contact, you can always do it if you want to).

If you like chatting, to the point of it being an addiction, you’ll love this new smartphone’s application, and you may even want to download it as soon as possible. Remember not to have both your account and passwords remembered in this application, because if you lose your cellphone you may be in serious problems.

Hotmail’s safe passwordsHaving a safe password is a must-have when you have a hotmail account, since this will help you to keep your personal information safe against informational thieves and hackers. This may sound complicated at first, but is not that hard if you follow a few tips we have to offers, specially because these may help you create the safest password around, even the best of the hackers would have some troubles trying to figure out your password.
These tips aren’t hotmail’s exclusive tips, because they can be used to other kind of sites, live Facebook, Badoo, Yahoo, almost every single webpage that will require you to have a password (which means, almost every site you may have to register to access some special services). To have a safe password, have in mind the following tips:
• Do not use easy-to-guess passwords, like birthdays, girl/boyfriend’s name, or anything you’re an extremely fan of (like, if you’re a great fan of Spider-man and your account can clearly show people that, don’t use “Spiderman” as your password).
• Never ever reveal your password to anyone, since you don’t know when a link may brake between you and that person, and that person can choose to take revenge on you by disrupting your accounts.
• Add hard-to-guess patterns to your password, like mixing capital with regular letters to your password, or even numbers (if you want to choose Spiderman, try doing $p1d3rM4N instead).
• Try not to write password on papers or files in the computer, try as much to remember instead of writing.
• Avoid having the “remember password” option on in your web browser.

Internet can be a big place, a country with no barriers, you don’t know where it starts a place and where one ends. Getting people to know you can be really hard, but with the help of a profile we can always show people how we are, and obviously, show them the information just WE want to show them. With Windows Live Mail Profile, we can also show people what we want, and configure it is really easy, plus, it has many options most of the sites doesn’t have. To start configuring it you must first log-in to your Hotmail account. Once you’ve successfully done that, look for the “profile” option on the right of the screen and click on it. A new page will load, and if you haven’t configure it before or change anything since you first made your Hotmail account, Hotmail itself will guide you to do it. But if you’ve done it before, you can always change it again by clicking on the “Edit details” options that will let you change things like general info (gender, occupation, place you live, interest, other things), work info (job title, profession, company, work contact information, besides other things) and even change your profile picture, which you may be bored of when time pass by.
